Everyone has a poison.
The word you tell yourself.
To justify your proclivities.
It doesn't eliminate the risk of poisoning

Gambling, sex, drugs or alcohol.
Choose your poison, the list is endless.
The lie they tell you.
To keep you addicted.


It keeps you going.
It's fun and uplifting 
The words they tell you. 
So you will remain a slave.


Everyone has a poison.
Don't give in to pressures.
Refuse to be a slave.
You don't need a poison to live.
