The greeting we greet,
At the start of the year,
To all that comes our way.

A hope and prayer,
For a better fate,
In the next 365 days.

Happy new year,
A subtle reminder,
That our time is short,
On our dwelling on earth.

Happy new year, 
It's all in our hands,
Our hopes and wishes,
They are waiting for us to act.
